"Detsune! Into my room! Now!" Detsune swivelled her head back into reality. It was the master. She thought she would finally get the punishment she deserved. She started to walk to the remains of his abode noticing in passing that the place was only slightly dameaged. "Sensei, I am sorry for failing you. I accept full responsibility." she said, sounding slightly bored.
"Enough of that Detsune! I have decided to give you an assignment."
"An assignment? Who will it be?"
"The usual. Miretsu Hagahara. This dojo has opposed him for much longer than you can remember. You were a victim of him - twice."
"You dont need to remind me. But Sanru himself couldn't kill him and Hagahara's guards get better each time he tries."
"Your skills are second only to Sanru's. That means that you are the best here. but I wont need your skills as an assassin. I will need your political skill. I remember you explaining technicalities to visitors on how to evade the punishment of the anti-sword edict. This dojo will fall, Detsune, and I want you to leave to carry on the legacy of the Doku no Gei."
"You want me to leave you? But what if Hagahara attacks again? You will need every man you have to defend this place!"
"That's the point. We can't."
"If that is true, then where will I go?"
"Where else? Tokyo. Here are your instructions: Fight Hagahara in his own game. Do not let anyone find out that this is under my orders, not even to your fellow assassins. Take the treasure of your family that we recovered and also the treasure of the entire dojo. They are under this house. Once you get to Tokyo look up a man named Shukou; he will help you set up shop there. Now outfit that carraige behind me with the treasures of the dojo while no one is looking this way." The master's voice was unbending. Detsune quickly took out the treasures and put them in the carraige. She examined it more closely. It was a western carraige more than large enough for the treasures she was loading. She found a driver and asked him to drive her carraige. She fled the city of Nagoya going towards Tokyo. The scenery around her was beautiful, and she smiled. As the carraige rode into the sunset, Detsune's heart was like lead. Sanru was gone and she was forced to leave her home, the only home she had after her mother died. She sighed and began to try to figure out how to get rid of the incipient boredom.
