The reader who happened to be Heike Detsune was wearing a black ninja outfit that blended into the outlying darkness. Next to her was a girl(or guy) in a fighting suit holding a heavy jeweled sword meant for decoration. "Mizumo, I have a bad feeling about this." Detsune certainly did not like the idea of someone paying premium just to see her dead. "Shouldn't we save those people?" Mizumo had just been through a tough night, and she was feeling semi-righteous at the time. "They have their own bodyguards. I think that we should take a brief stop at my place." "And where would that be?" "You'll see. * * * The two ladies arrived at a glorious mansion. It had hanging gardens, tall windows made from the finest glass, great marble pathways, doors of the hardest mahogany and statues sheathed in gold. Mizumo was dumbstruck as the glorious mansion was accentuated by the rising sun. She could not believe that something could be that big or beautiful. "Ummm, Detsune, how much did you pay for this?" Mizumo wanted to see if she can save enough money to have a rich place like Detsune's. "If I would try to compute how much I spent on it, I'd never get anything done." After they went inside, Detsune escorted Mizumo for her quarters for the day. Mizumo was not very comfortable staying in a room larger than her shop. "Enjoy your stay here Mizumo. Rest first and I'll come back to you in the afternoon. If you want you can wander around, but I strongly advise against it. Even I get lost around here sometimes." "Uh, okay. Thanks." Mizumo was still feeling awkward staying inside the very spacious room, and she took to exploring as soon as Heike was out of sight. She passed through dim corridors and elegant galleries until she ended up in the garden. As Mizumo walked around, she saw Heike training among the trees. Her outfit was of green silk, and it was too elaborate to be considered a training suit. Heike faced her and said "My, Mizumo. I see you took to exploring." . "Well, hello. I see that you train." "Get some rest and change. We are going off to investigate." "Oh, Detsune, I know a place where we can go first." "Where?" "You wouldn't want to know." * * * A beautiful lady barged into a very disreputable tavern, being escorted by what the tavern patrons thought to be her date. The traffic in the room started to move in the lady's direction, however. "I can't believe I'm in here. Why in the hell did you drag me out of my wonderful home to such a revolting place!" "Oh come on! It's a girl's night out!" "I'd rather we where in some fine restaurant or at least in the house of the emperor feasting on the fine sake and food! Not in some hovel filled with bums like these." "They're not Bums, they're Poverty stricken!" "Are you in the least bit trying to be politically correct, cause it doesn't sound like it. I may be a politician, but I'd rather not see what I'm trying to help!" "Just sit down and drink, Detsune." The two women sat down but Heike was definitely uneasy. She checked her seat numerous times for any signs of disgusting material, which Mizumo reminded her off that there was none. They asked for some of the most expensive Sake, but the price was definitely chickenfeed to them. A purple haired man then approached the two with a twinkle in his eye and a boyish grin. Detsune could only roll her eyes skyward thinking that all the suggestive winks and gestures would start. *I think I have to set an example and he is my poor victim.* "Well boy, like to drink with me? My treat. the one who drinks the most sake wins!" "I'd love to. Oh, and maybe you'd like to know my name." "Whatever it is, pleased to meet you yadayadayada." Mizumo looked over at the two and began to wonder about the man, *If he suggest or even dare mistake me for a guy...* she cracked her knuckles. "Pleased to meet you too, my name is Wataru Shiro." The man made a small bow, and Mizumo just rolled her eys, not wanting to introduce herself. "And could this person be?" Mizumo noted the word "person" in the sentence *can't figure what gender I am...hmph* "She's a friend of mine, her name is Mizumo," answered Detsune for Mizumo. *She?* Wataru had almost mistaken Mizumo for a guy, seeing what kind of clothes she wears and her boyish attitude. Mizumo saw the shocked look and almost lost her temper, but calmed her self down, there were times when she would bring a friend her, she would be mistaken for her friends date... "Yes, I'm a girl, so let's leave on that and don't you two have a drinking contest to start, finish-whatever?" Detsune nodded, "Yes, we do have a contest to start..." The bartender put two barrels of sake in front of them. "First one to finish all wins" was all the bartender said before he started to collect bets. "Ready...set...GO!" Shiro started to drink ferociously, but Detsune was ladylike, dipping a cup in and sipping the contents before she threw up on Shiro because of the taste. "Ugh, you call this drinkable?" Shiro was still in shock over the ruination of his clothes. Mizumo began to laugh. The scene was hilarious! "I guess I'm not trying that!" She tried hard to stop laughing but failed miserably. She went over to Detsune, "Hey, Detsune, you *snicker* o-*another snicker*-kay?" Detsune raised her head weakly as a reply while unruly sentiments started cropping up within the room. "How dare she call our favorite drink undrinkable?" or "That high-class bitch doesn't know who she's messing with." were very audible. A little tavern brawl happened after that. "Oh... just great..." before they knew it, Mizumo and Detsune were surrounded, "Oh sure Detsune, insult this nice folks drinks... how dare-" before she finished she had crashed a chair in the drunken brawler head and chaos eruptted. Through the whole chaos... while everyone was beating the crap out of each other, Mizumo was able to lead Detsune out of the bar. Mizumo was laughing at hearing Detsune enraged complaints, "How dare you bring me to such a filthy mess of a place-are you laughing?! We almost got killed!" Mizumo grinned and put a hand on Detsunes' shoulder, "Don't worry, we got out safely and thos idiots were beating them selves up! Relax! I even have some excess baggage" Mizumo stuck her finger behind her to show a grinning Shiro without wearing anything on top. He would rather show off his features butt naked than walk around with horrible clothes on. "I rather like you. How would you like to work with me?" Detsune asked him slyly. "Of course. We can talk about pay some other time." Shiro then bowed "I pledge my loyalty to you with samurai's honor." "My, oh, my. At least you won't cost me anything." Detsune half-drawled. "What? You asked me to work for you!" "I asked if you would like to work with me. Now you've glued yourself to my feet because you misinterpreted my words. Why did you do that anyway?" Shiro flushed and felt rather stupid. The sake worked on him good. "And about the pay-" "You will get nothing." Detsune cut him short. Mizumo laughed. *Poor guy, working for Detsune and not getting any pay!* "Well, good man, you got stuck working with Detsune, poor guy... Hey, and good luck working her," she turned her attention to Detsune, "And Detsune, How did you like the tarvern? You have to admit, stuff that goes on in there is as funny as hell!" Mizumo laughed again. "I do not see what is so amusing about the entire matter." Detsune said frostily. She stopped laughing, "So, Detsune, I guess this guy is going to help us investigate..." "Yeah, I guess so. Now, how about going back to my place, rely on the spies to do the work, and strike when we know anything." She jerked her hand towards Shiro "And he can help out gathering information while we enjoy ourselves." "Sounds fine to me!" Mizumo replied, her eyes twinkling. Shiro took on a horrified expression. Mizumo saw that expression, *Poor guy... ah well! At least I can relax!* "So Detsune, while this guy is gathering information, exactly where should we go if we ever get bored at your..." she sweatdropped, "Large...house," to her, large was an understatment about the house, "Your choice this time, since my choice, kinda... caused trouble..." "Hmmm... I think that we'll just hold ourselves in reserve. There are plenty of things to do in my place, and Shiro can do all the work. (thanks to certain mixtures...)" Mizumo stopped. "I think I should be getting back to my place... I'll just meet up with you when you have any leads." "Alright then. I'll send someone to you. Bye." "Bye..." * * * [End Part Three/Sunrise to Sunset]
